The Psychotronic Store was a fixture in Camden Town, North London, for well over two decades. Owned and run by the husband and wife team of “Psychotronic Tony” and Donna, the store became a destination for cult movie fans from around the world until its closure on 31 October 2013 to concentrate solely on the online version of the store.
Initially based in a basement in Buck Street, the store originally stocked rare and hard to find cult VHS tapes (including pre-certificate favourites) before branching into movie memorabilia, magazines, posters, props, DVDs and toys. For a very brief time the store left Camden opening a “mega store” in Hanway Street in London’s West End, before returning to it’s true home in North London.
Thanks to “Psychotronic Tony’s” in-depth knowledge of all things cult, many people credit the store with their lifelong love of the weird and wonderful, including those who went on to be film costume designers, directors, filmmakers, journalists, cult authors, comedians, actors, special effects masters, rock stars and postmen.
Now, for one day only Psychotronic Tony and his legendary Psychotronic Store are returning to London as part of the Camden Film Fair! Taking place on Saturday 6th December from 10am, special guests include the UK’s Princess of Horror Dani Thompson (Serial Kaller, Axe to Grind, Fragments of Fear) and classic monster movie actor Paul Stockman (Konga, Dr Blood’s Coffin) so this is one event you simply cannot miss!
